Memorial Day Gaming
by Susan Rozmiarek
It's becoming a tradition for us to host a big cookout and games day on Monday holidays. These are always fun, noisy, crowded affairs, with lots of food and drink. Since there are usually several non-gaming spouses joining us, many of our lighter games like Trendy and Pig Pile make an appearance. We also bring out the dexterity games, which are enjoyed by both the kids and the adults. These included Carabande, Villa Palleti, and Kapitän Wackelpudding. Another game we like to bring out on these days is Moods, a party game that always generates a lot of laughs. The highlight for me was my first playing of Alhambra. The card-managing aspect coupled with the tile-building puzzle made it an instant hit for me. I've read that it can be chaotic with six players, but we played with four and that seemed to be a good number.
Check out the photo gallery for pictures of all the fun and mayhem.
