Web site woes
by Ed Rozmiarek
The last few days have been frustrating. Most people probably did not notice, (since I don't think we get
too much traffic) but we have had some web host provider "issues" since last Saturday. I
think things are back to normal, but not after moving to a back up provider and getting the backup site up to date. It's very frustrating when your service provider plans a migration to a new data center and
doesn't tell anyone! How can any provider of a 24/7 service not tell their customers that they will be down when it is know in advance???
Argh!
Of course, now that the migration is over (which was due to a consolidation after my original web host was bought out by another company) the new company is offering a discount package with huge amounts of space and lots of frills for a pretty low fee. Trying to make up due to the problems? Maybe. How can you trust these virtual service provider? You really have to have a lot of trust to do business in this virtual world of the internet. Sometimes you really need to be able to talk to a person or see the product you are buying.
What to do... what to do....
